Roger Preis
Roger brings the unique combination of coaching expertise and professional experience to coaching in practical, “real-time” situations. He encourages executives to assess their capabilities and experience new ways to approach situations that enhance their leadership skills and collaboration and execution in successfully.
As an executive coach, Roger possesses his results-oriented, direct style, focusing on problem-solving and strategic decision-making. He is an accomplished communicator modeling skills and expertise essential to being an effective leader.
Roger shares his in-depth knowledge of diverse business cultures, leadership styles and executive presence, while emphasizing the importance of managing upward, downward, and cross-functionally. He coaches others to carefully prioritize and strategize while stressing the importance of goodwill, commitment, loyalty and to exceed expectations.
Roger’s career includes being the President of Robert Half International Inc. in Connecticut and Westchester County, New York where he built his company from one employee to a multi-office network with multiple offices and approximately 50 employees. He also held positions in employment, staffing, and employee relations for Robert Half International, a $5 billion NYSE staffing and consulting industry leader, and with Unilever. Roger has served on the mathematics faculty at the University of Connecticut, Rippowam High School, and Graduate Equivalency Degree (G.E.D) program.
Roger is committed to philanthropy and serves in board leadership positions in the non-profit community. As past President of the Board for the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, he was instrumental in helping to lead the organizational transformation to one of the finest non-profits in Vermont and also recognized nationally. Roger is Co-Chair of the Board Governance & Development Committee actively recruiting board members and major donors. Roger also served as Vice Chair of VNA and Hospice Care of Southwestern Connecticut and was part of a small group that built the first Hospice Residence in Connecticut.
Roger has been honored as an integral force in the start up and highly impactful, cutting edge team initiated and developed the Early Promise Program for Youth. This program has focused on the mission and vision of academic success to promote advanced education designed to break the cycle of generational childhood poverty. Remarkably there are over 150 participants in the Early Promise Program in Burlington alone with 45 participants currently in college and 12 graduates with bachelors and masters degrees. Roger was one of only two individuals in the United States to receive the prestigious Maytag Dependable Leadership award and is a two-time recipient of the Boys & Girls Club of America’s National Service Award for Youth.
